Hey Guys I thought It would be a good Idea for us to have a Topic on the Type-R's Diffrent Weight Comparrisons between OEM and Aftermarket...
This is mostly for if somebody wants to ''shed'' a few KG's for a track day or even for a permanent reduction...
Please add any additional Info you have to the list (And please start with either OEM... or Aftermarket... (And state the brand of the Aftermarket one please.)
And If at all possible please try and post a pic just for Verification. (Not saying anybody lies, but some poeopl want proof)
So hope you enjoy and can use some of it... :thumbup:

FN2 PARTS:
Exterior Parts:
OEM Bonnet = 8.23 kg
OEM Boot-lid / Tailgate (Bare metal frame only, No Glass or plastic) = 14.3 kg
OEM Wing = 2.53 kg
OEM Back Perspex Window = 3.6 kg
OEM Outer boot cover (below the tail lights) = 2.15 kg
OEM Side Mirrors = 1.514 kg each (Including Base Plate) = 3.028 kg per pair
OEM 18' Type-R Rims = 11.7 kg each (No Tires) = 46.8 kg per set
OEM Front Fenders (= 2.3 kg each) = 4.6 kg per pair
OEM Doors (without the window)(= 20.0 kg each) = 40 kg per pair

Motor / Engine Parts:
OEM Exhaust Header = 13.8 kg (Including CAT)
OEM Crank Pulley = 1.86 kg
OEM Alternator Pulley = 0.260 kg
OEM Fly Wheel = 4.8 kg[/color]
OEM Intake Manifold = 5.825 Kg
OEM Throttle Body = 0.910 Kg


Interior Parts:
OEM Front Driver Seat = 27.2 kg
OEM Front Passenger Seat = 25.3 kg
OEM Rear Seat (Larger part behind Driver) = 22 kg
OEM Rear Seat (Smaller Part behind Passenger) = 16 kg
OEM Front Seat belts = 2.016 kg each (Including Mounting Bolts) = 4.032 kg

OEM Air Con = 19 kg (Got this from somebody else, so im guessing it is everything that links the Air-Con, pump and fittings)

Aftermarket - Mugen Fenders (Fiberglass) = 2.0 kg each
Aftermarket - Tegiwa Carbon Bonnet = 5.6kg

btw, does the carbon fibre wrap work just as well on fibreglass?
what about if/when you need to remove the wrap...(sorry i sound rather noob, have NO idea how fibreglass works) :)

No problem dude, thats why there are forums - to learn and share...
Have to spray primer on it first and then samd it down smooth again to gige the wrap something to stick onto... It will stick to the fiberglass, but then its gonna be un-even, thats why primer is required to smooth it out first...

that, my friend, sounds like a ton of hard work, and by the photos, i must say, its looking GRRRRRREAT and paying off too.

I second botha on his comment...I tried fitting rickhonda's footwell lighting yesterday night and i suffered horribly, cant even work with those scotch clips and confined spaces...haha :P

Thanks for your continuing efforts here WAR.
I should have weighed my Viper exhaust and manifold before fitment, huge weight savings there. The viper header felt like it was half the weight of stock cast one, and that's excluding the cat.
