@CivicRSA - i read with great interest the modified base map of GroupN with vtech window at 4500 RPM. I m currently using the GroupN Map and i find that 3800RPM is a little early for my likely. I will grateful if you would also give me the modified map or give me some pointers.

Hey Torpedo. Where are you from? Yes 3800rpm is a little low for some people, it is not a problem to set it a little higher but I suggest a complete custom tune to get the most out of your car. You can read about the the tuning process here http://civictype-r.co.za/phpBB3/viewtop ... f=26&t=112 . PM me if you would like to go ahead with a tune.

Hello CivicRSA,

I am from Singapore.

From the intake to exhaust, other than the air fiter everything else are stock for my ride. I want to use the standard map now and do a custom tune only after i have done other mods. To adjust the VTEC higher (say 4500RPM), is it just simply change the lower VTEC window or are there more that need to be adjusted?

Cheers.

Your cam angles need to adjusted as well.

I adjusted the lower vtec window from 3800 to 4200 and also the cam angles, it is now much smoother compare to the standard Group N map. Like it a lot. :)

If both cars are stock then the maps will be similar. But remember that each car is different and a custom tune is best.
Why do you ask? Do you want to use his map?

Hey guys,

New to the forum...and really green behind the ears with all the tuning stuff. My Stock FN2 has now done just over 30K and now I want more out of it. It sucks to be at altitude. I've been reading up on all the good info here, from CivicRSA and others about the the flashpro which I think will be the easiest mod to start with, and besides I don't want to do anything expansive for fear of losing my warranty.

@CivicRSA/Guys, any advice, do I just get the flashpro...but I would like it tuned as well, that way I can understand exactly whats what.

Thanks for a great forum, especially for newbie.

Hi guys,

Had my FN2 etuned. Thanks Chris!

Just have some questions @Chris and anyone who has had experience with Flashpro installation. I noticed that my wipers come on intermittently once (its set to auto sensing) when I start the car, since the tune. Also in terms of drive, the car seems to have to warm up a bit before it becomes responsive. Does this get better over time, almost like engine is learning? Also if I had to now do a dyno-tune, would have to e-tune again?

Thanks guys!

The flashpro only deals with the ecu. It will have absolutely nothing to do with the wipers. How is your battery?

Our cars are sluggish when cold. It is a feature used by Honda to warm the catalytic converter quicker.

Good news is that Hondata will be adding a feature to remove this soon.

Thanks! Well that's what I thought...maybe my rain sensors just got bugged at that time. Will test it at the car wash...Jhb is dry as hell.

No battery problems to note. Car feels a little looser little louder and more fun in the mid range but kind of drags out at the high end. If i set the lower vtec limit a bit higher would I need to alter the upper limit as well so that range is the same. Would this mean a retune?

Changing the vtec point will require adjustments to cam angle and fueling. Send me a mail I can look at it for you.
