FN2 Type R cat-back exhaust by Martelius

Postby spdr@cer » Wed Jul 20, 2011 4:07 pm

Came across this on civic info exhaust sounds quite nice new exhaust setup for FN2

http://www.civinfo.com/forum/general-co ... elius.html

We at Martelius have been producing racing exhaust manifolds and systems for almost 30 years, and Honda Civics have been a key part of our line up for a couple of decades already.

In 2007 we produced the latest Group N rally and racing exhaust system for then brand new FN2 Type R, successor to the previous EP3 model which had dominated the under 2000cc Group N rallying scene ever since it's introduction.

After a while we started getting requests for the FN2 system from street and track day enthusiasts from all over the world, who were after the aggressive sound, improved flow ability and lightweight construction of our system. The problem always was the decat construction, as rally cars use an FIA homologated converter at the back and the front section is replaced completely. This complicated the installation and streetability of the product.

I'm glad to announce that we have now taken the step to produce a modified version of the racing system to be a 100% bolt-on fit to the car, fitting right to the original converter's flange at the front. Some other minor changes have been introduced as well, and the system is now at a prototype testing stage. Production will start in the first half of August.

Key details of our new cat-back:

Bolt-on fitment to the FN2 Type R
Mandrel bent 2.5" (63.5mm) AISI409 tubing
Single lightweight straight through flowing racing silencer
Single outlet construction for least interrupted flow and light weight
The original triangular outlet is utilized
Angry racing car sound when the pedal meets the metal

Price for this system is 550 euros (tax included within the EU) plus delivery. Shipping to anywhere in the world is available, ask for a quote to your address.

Detailed images of the system will be published as the production begins, for now here's some Honda music in the form of our official sound check video:

The cat-back system designed for the FN2 doesn't have a rear mount cat in front of the silencer and the front connecting flange is located around the area of the 3rd bend from the front in the picture as per above Detailed images of the system will be published as the production begins
